WHAT'S INCLUDED

Painted Background

When you begin a portrait, the first thing you should do is paint the background of the portrait. This part is crucial for creating a realistic effect, as well as helping you focus on the subject of the work. In our example, if you're painting a portrait of the women, you might want to paint less detail into the background. This will help you pay closer attention to the subject, as well as making your subject the most important part of the piece. The most important part of a work of art is always the subject, so it's important to have a strong background to keep them at the center of the piece.

Face

If you're a beginner in Photoshop, it's sometimes hard to know how to make a skin look realistic. We will learn to paint skin, while helping to preserve the details of our subject.

Eyes

Eyes are a window into a person's soul. Give your audience the chance to open up and look at your message. There are a thousand ways to make eyes more significant, depending on what you want to achieve. In the following tutorial, we'll show you a range of steps to make your eyes pop, make make them appear as they are ready to leap off the screen and ultimately leap off the canvas.

Hair

We will start with blending and painting hair using Photoshop. This will be the base of the hair. We will then turn our focus towards adding depth and dimension. To create depth, we will use darker colors to pull viewers into the head. To add dimension, we will have to have shifted the colors ever so slightly throughout the hair. We are able to do this by adding in strokes of hair to give depth and dimension.

Clothing

Clothing and material are the most fun and easy things to paint. It does not take years of training to be able to paint. All it takes is some patience, and some time. You will see how adding in shadows and highlights will create more depth, I will also give some shortcuts to getting the job done quicker.

Extras

I will then give you some tips and trick to give your painting that little extra boost
